We shall see....sometimes it does not happen , or its very localized. The " snow Belt" , which is mostly a lake effect hook pattern over the Lake seems to occur at higher elevations mostly. I am in the mix at 1250 feet, so is Negaunee and Ishpming.which are in some places higher then I am, sort of a plateau that goes from 1100 to 1600 feet. Marquette proper seldom gets the full effect, Division st. seems to be the normal dividing line for weather. In fact , for several years in a row they had to bring in snow by truck-load for the sled dog races that start in Washington st. Marquette downtown is at lake level, 670 feet.
Stay tuned, I may have a story to tell....or not.

And this just out for my neck of the woods...

Sunday...the dam breaks on the cold air aloft with a significant amount of moisture, and the aid of spokes of energy that are spinning around the 500 mb low just NE of Lake Superior. The surface low intensifies as the 500 mb low digs. This maintains a northwest flow pattern, if the European model (ecmwf) is right, and may be west-northwest on the GFS and west on the NAM. At this point with the energy from the upper low over the region, snow definitely be falling just about everywhere with some enhancement. This will affect some accumulations, but it is safe to say that we will have moderate to heavy accumulations going, especially in northwest lower and east upper as the pattern gets organized.

Detroit just tied this evening for its wettest year on record (tied with 1880 for 47.69").

Interestingly enough, in regards to Detroit's previous top 2 wettest years, one of the years (1880) gave way to not only a winter season featuring Detroit's largest snowstorm on record (23.9", which by the way happened in April!!!) but also Detroit's snowiest season on record (93.6" in total). The other year, which funny enough is 1881, gave way to Detroit's 3rd least snowiest winter on record, with a whopping 15.1" on the docket.
