We are getting a Jets pizza here in Marquette soon. How is it? I grew up near Detroit, and LOVED Buddys pizza!! Is this similar? Thanks for your input!!!

There is a Jet's near me in Petoskey. I have never been there, but I hear it is very good.

Pappa Ramano's used to be our favorite. But they sold it or moved and we now order Jets when we get pizza. I think they are pretty good, I'm a deep dish fan and theirs is pretty tasty. Crust is awesome and their sauce has a very good flavor. I think you'll like it. I'd prefer a Pasano's pizza but can't drive to TC to get pizza.

Jets is good if you love deep dish pizza. I love the jet bread though.

To be honest, it's good, but it's like "B" grade, chain pizza version of Buddy's/Loui's/Shield's.

However, IMO, Jets has gone downhill some since they've started giving the pizza away for $9.99.

This type of pizza BTW is known as Detroit-style pizza, the best pizza in the country IMO and highly underrated. Even Little Caesars' Detroit-style pizza isn't too awful.

I think it's a tad bit better than Little Ceasers but not as good as Buddy's.

Not a big Jets fan. Too much bread, not enough cheese, and they tend to overcook the crust a tad. I don't know if that's to add some kind of flavor or what, or if it's just the one in Petoskey. I will take B.C., Mancino's, Mighty Fine or Little Ceasars/Spicy Bob's (same thing) in my neck of the woods before I get Jets.

Of course, if someone else is buying, I certainly don't refuse to eat Jets. It just happens to be at the bottom of my personal list.

It's on purpose. See the link in my previous post.

It is interesting though that many people prefer Little Caesars over Jets Pizza. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I figured as much. I know a lot of folks that love it, but I don't like a crunchy crust, and I certainly don't want any part of my pizza overcooked to the point of being nearly burned. When it comes to pizza, I just want a straight ahead pie with a soft, tasty crust that's secondary to the toppings. This is why B.C., while certainly not a gourmet or spectacular pizza in any way, will always be my favorite. There's nothing special about their pizza, it's just plain ol' pizza that tastes GOOD. Jets is heavier, Mighty Fine is prettier, but B.C. is the ol' reliable .

Jet's Pizza is generic, nothing special pizza. Then again, I was raised in metro NYC so that describes any pizza I've had outside my own kitchen here in Traverse City
