Well you do have a point Mihome, The problem is in the hands of the people WHO VOTE! the ones that kill me are the people who says they can't find time to Vote and then when things go wrong like now they all complain it was someone else's fault(Englers). or they ***** about how things are going, or they don't say anything but give praise to the Moron in Office. people in Our State have some strange ideas how Goverment should work. I have been saying for year that the House and Senate need to be cleared out and new faces and names elected people who can make things happen to get Michigan up and working. I talked with a Floor installer today, and he was telling me of a friend who travels all over doing constrution work, and he said that any other State he goes to, He sees Help Wanted signs every where, but here in Michigan you can't find jobs for Blue collar workers. This is why people are leaving to find jobs.

I'm going to flip this cynical thread and put its title to good use by saying
HORRAY! To GM and the Union for coming to a swift and fair (greedy-free) resolution.
Let's hope and pray they can carry this momentum into the future!
YIP-YIP-YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Angry Housing Data/State of the State

Every website or "housing authority" can be misleading for many reasons. There are so many websites with many different figures. The way the government gets their data is through census information along with direct input from lenders. (Census.gov) Is a scary place to look, you'll find Michigan in most of the "last" lists concerning development, job creation, etc. The site is huge and has eons of info but some good indicators of the future. Michigan has long been in the top 10 as defaulted loans are concerned, but it wasn't until the last 5 years as most of the manufacturing based dried up that those numbers rose significantly. I feel especially bad for kids getting out of H.S. hoping to find a future, they simply are leaving. (Census.gov) More people leave Michigan ages 18-29 than any other state in the country. The only reason I know these numbers is due to my degree in statistics/demography. Beyond the negativity, it is up to our Unions, particularly the UAW to accept a little less and make their companies profitable therefore attracting new business to the state, as well as keeping a positive attitude about our situation. If you want data on the housing market you need go no further than drive down your street and see the sign party. Its not even a buyers market, its a safe your self market.
