Great map! Pretty funny and accurate in many ways.

I noticed the "Confederate Hicks". As much as I defended Michigan in the "Is Michigan Country" thread, I do have to admit that the Jackson area does seem to have the whole "Michitucky" or "Michisssippi" vibe to it.

The one area, that seems a little oddly labeled, is Ann Arbor is "Walmart Fans?" Maybe that is a possible reference to poor college students who can't afford to shop anywhere else maybe. I figured "Peoples republic" or "Berkeley of the midwest" would be more accurate.

Yes I'm from Albion and we have a lot of Appalachia types that came up to work in the auto industry. My mother worked in one of the factories and she said that she knew many who would leave for KY or parts right after their shift ended Friday. Aren't there some suburbs around Detroit that have the same cultural/regional baseline?
I saw the Walmart thing and wondered if there was some bunch of Walmart distribution centers or something down there. I know one was in Coldwater. Or maybe a bunch of small towns that just have a Walmart and nothing else? Puzzling.

I'm thinking it's gotta be a reference to "Wal Mart Wolverines." WalmartWolverines.com

The three suburbs I can think of that have the pejorative ending in "tucky are Ypsitucky, Taylortucky, and Hazeltucky.
