I only wish most of Michigan had more hills, lol!
My local shopping mall has plenty of hills. Some people call them "speed bumps" but they're lots of fun to drive over.

There are many hills in some parts of Michigan. NW Michigan (Leelanau, Emmet and Antrim County) and the mid/western UP are quite beautiful when it comes to hilly terrain.

I agree about the hills in NW Michigan. There are plenty and many are quite big.

Agreed!

And as there is only one substantial metro area in the state (one of Michigan's few shortcomings) I would pick somewhere around metro Detroit, maybe Livonia, Dearborn, or Oakland County. Possibly Ann Arbor, although it is a little too slow and "small-town" for me.

But, for the record I hope never to retire. I would probably be one of those people that would be dead in less than a year after retirement.

We do have hills here and there in the southern half of the state, but you have to know where to look. Along the valleys of the bigger rivers (Thornapple River, Grand River, Muskegon River, Kalamazoo River) there are hilly areas. I don't know the science behind it, but there are almost always hills surrounding the rivers in MI. They might be technically considered valleys, but the land gets a lot more rolling and interesting in those spots.

Barry County is another area that I can think of that has some decent hills. Other than the northeast part, most of the county is hilly by Michigan standards.

Yes...I took it as if she meant larger hills like maybe mountains....but not quite.... like in the western U.P. Of course the northern part of our state is very hilly and extremely beautiful.

Yeah, for anything that would be considered a true "hill" by people from mountainous states, you have to go north, that is for sure.
