Hi, was just wondering if there is such need in Marquette. Hubby and I are looking for jobs up that way in a few weeks and we will be moving as soon as we find work. Was curious, is the need great enough to make a living at it? Any feed back would be great. Thanks.

We are in desperate need of a daycare near Negaunee Township (5 mi from marquette)!!
Please keep me updated!! I have 2 children, my neighbor has 2 children, and another of our neighbors has 2 children!! We could fill your daycare (Ages 3mo, 13mo, 2, 2, 5, 5)

The need for good affordable licensed daycare is indeed great. Wifes coworker just went yesterday to tour the most popular one up here and turned right back around when she found out the cost! Her boss was getting very desperate this summer trying to find something to do with her two school age boys.
It's not our calling otherwise we would of jumped in to fill the gap already.

The need for daycare in Marquette and surrounding areas fluctuates throughout the year. The income is generally not consistent for home daycare providers. I did daycare from my home for 5 years. Fortunatly, I was near the college and was nearly always full. However you need to be flexible with your hours in Marquette as a lot of the parents needing care do not work the 9-5 jobs. I currently know of 3 daycares in the area that are struggling to keep their numbers up. This is not due to quality of care but rather the economics of Marquette as a whole

I find that very, very surprising given all the griping I hear around here. Maybe they should advertise more?
