People are friendly, life is slower, reminds me of what the 1950's must have been like. Every day I look out the window, or I'm driving somewhere, and can't get enough of the zillions of trees everywhere- and the bluest skies I have ever seen, seriously--- a shade of blue that I haven't seen anywhere else, just so pure and gorgeous!

We lived through the winter, lol- they do keep the roads pretty cleaned up here, and even when you have loads of snow on the ground, the sun still manages to shine quite a bit and it's beautiful. We have deer wandering constantly in our backyard, and we live in town, lol- we were able to spend the 4th of July on our back deck, because they held the firework show on the hill directly behind our house-

I knew I was going to love it here, just because I fell in love with Michigan - period - when I moved here the first time, seven years ago- we lived downstate first, and it just seems that the further North you go, the better it gets----

I do believe we've hit the pinnacle now, lol!

We just moved Southwest of Traverse City to a town called Honor. We are loving life up here...but I always new this was the life I wanted. I We don't even like to think about going down state again for anything!
Life is slower, and you seem to appreciate things more...oh, and the people are so friendly it's a bit weird! lol

" UP North can mean many things to many people, its all in your perspective. TC is a nice place as Moldman is finding out. Your move to the UP is the ultimate of what the north woods IS really like. Where in da UP are you at ?. You know , its almost 400 miles wide, a big place to get lost in ! lol
