Default TC, pros and cons

"Wow! Clearly most of you people need to spend a little less time punching keys on your computer, and a little more time outside in Traverse City getting some exercise and working out some aggression!"

Thanks for the great info, Steve! The TC area is beautiful and full of unique opportunities. Granted, there are changes that occur in any location that is as desirable as Traverse City is: people move in, people move out, but its still unique and its still beautiful and, well, that's why people are attracted to it even with its growing pains. How to preserve and maintain that uniqueness will surely be debated for years to come, and passionately, but for those of you who are naysayers out there, you ought to consider where you'd rather be: a community that attracts people of all kinds who are passionate enough about the area to fight over it, or a community that attracts few and remains stagnant year after year after year. Remember the old saying: "variety is the spice of life"? Well . . .
