The small towns around Muskegon are very nice. Just south of Muskegon is Grand haven, really nice lake town. Muskegon itself has some rough areas to avoid. I cant think of a bigger change of scenery than Nevada to Michigan. Michigan and Nevada are so different they cannot be compared. I would imagine all that fresh water in Lake Michigan would absolutely shock a person from the dry states of the west. Good luck in your potential move.

Hate to say it, but avoid Muskegon and head east or south. Spring lake is a very nice small town. Real Americana.

You will love the west coast of Michigan! It's a beautiful state that will bring an entirely different set of scenery, critters and weather. I hope all goes well with your move.

Muskegon is a terrible place to raise a family. Better to stay put in Nevada.
