No. The reasons have nothing to do with the economy, heck , they pale in comparison to the economy, better yet, they aren't even comparable. Besides, i've been 'poor' before so it's easier for me to take a hit economy-wise.

Try losing a son and then getting a vascetomy only to have the child be genetically deformed due to triploidy. Economy? What's that!? Who cares! It's such a vain thing to 'worry' about the economy.

So in short, No.

Blue grass sorry about your son, But I have been on the streets before(1991) and to come back to where I'm at. I couldn't take a hit at 50 years old and end up on the streets with two young girls(5&6Years old) and then have to start all over sorry for your loss But I see no good that will come from this States Goverment doing the Residents of Michigan like they have done.

Where's the response option for : "Yes, I'm better off than 4 years ego despite the state's bad economy." (that's me)

I really don't know. I think that right now, Michigan is in a somewhat unavoidable bust cycle due to overall changes in the manufacturing industry. These bust cycles have happened in other places before, and will happen in other places again in the future. It's tough that it's happening now, and seemingly only to Michigan (and maybe Ohio,) but unfortunately it's the way things are. Some people unfortunately might have to leave Michigan for jobs elsewhere.

On the other hand, I think there's an undercurrent going around the state that in order to be successful, you have to leave Michigan. In some cases, it might be true, but in many others, it might not be. I think that if too many people don't feel that they can be successful in the state, then things aren't going to work out. That's what I'm seeing right now, and that's my biggest worry about the state.

Look, it's no secret that this state's government is severely f-ed up. I get that. But, I'd rather try to make the best out of a bad situation than sit around and mope and think about how bad it is. And trust me - it would be easy to do. I moved here from a state with a good economy and NO STATE TAX. We had it much better in TX. Would I rather be back there? Yes. But I can't, because we took a job up here, so I have to make the best of it.

I understand that jobs are scarce and people are scared. That sucks, and I wish it were different. But honestly, I've had a lot of workers in and out of my house this past month (kitchen remodel) and none of them have shown the doom and gloom that I hear about on this board all the time. I don't know...I guess everyone handles stress differently?

Or the choice that you think the economy will come back, but not by winter?

I'm curious too who said that Michigan's economy is doing fine?
