Default New Michigan license plates

The state has unveiled the two new license plates that will be available starting in 2013. What does everyone think?

I think the blue and white basic plate is much nicer than the old one, but the Mackinac Bridge plate is a little too... loud. My first impression is that I don't like it.

I kinda like the top one. The bottom one is pretty cool too.

I like them both, but like the bottom best, just plain and simple looking.

I liked the older plates which were clearly distinguishable as michigan plates.

These are as good as any. The lower one is a bit plain and looks like plates in many other states. The upper one is bright and distinguishable, but a little too busy. If it did not have numbers, it would be neat, but with the numbers printed over, it willbe hard to make out either hte picture or the numbers.

First reaction is, I don't like 'em. Bottom one is ok.

The top one has too much yellow/orange. If I were to just glance at it, I would think of the SW - New Mexico, Arizona, etc. I think a MI plate should be mostly blues and greens. JMO.

The top one makes Lake Michigan look like Montego Bay...too turquoise to be a true rendering of one of the Great Lakes which is what makes it gaudy, IMHO. The bottom one is boring. Too bad they can't come up with one that is somewhere in the middle, but then they couldn't sell the top one for an extra $5. I'll end up with the bottom one, cuz I'm too cheap to pay the extra money.

Hey, at least they don't look like the Ohio "Farmer in the Dell" license plates. Everytime I see one of those, I think of an illustration from one of my kids' old books from when they were in pre-school. Cute, but not license plate material.

I don't like how it says "Pure Michigan" on it.

"Pure Michigan" that's fine as an advertising slogan, but it's not the name of the state. License plates should have the name of the state on it, not an ad slogan. I also REALLY hate the "welcome to Pure Michigan" signs that they put along the highways at the borders. Why can't it just say "Welcome to Michigan"? Taking it too far IMO.

Pure Michigan: The M in michigan looks too much like the Millennium Force logo. Every time I see it, it makes me think of Cedar Point. Which makes me think about Ohio.

I wish we would keep the same plates for longer periods of time. Seems like a lot of waste.
