Hi everyone, I am interviewing for a position near Lansing, Mi. I have already started my apartment search because there are so many. What parts of Lansing should I avoid? What parts are safe for a mid 20s woman? I know some apartments are in East Battenfiled, Old Towne, and Groesbeck. I really know NOTHING about Lansing! are there some apartment complexes to completely avoid? thanks!

Stay away from that big building with a dome on top - it's full of crooks!

Honestly, it's hard to answer because you haven't given us enough info.

What is your budget? Where are you coming from (will help gauge your level of tolerance for certain areas)? Do you need to live close to work? Do you need/want a nightlife scene? If so, are you thinking more like college-aged crowds, or young professionals?

Generally speaking, Lansing is the least desirable place in the area, but mostly for families due to the poor public schools. There are some nice areas of Lansing, such as Groesbeck, Creyts Road, Delta Township, etc., but most families prefer to live in Mason, Holt, East Lansing, Okemos or Dewitt.

There's a million answers to this question. Can you provide some more info?
