I ask this because as being raised in New England I have certain memories related to holidays and weather. To me it just doesn't "feel" right if on Thanksgiving it 70 degrees outside. I think the mid or low 40s "feel" right. And Christmas, Well I always hope for snow.

So for those you you that where raised in Michigan and/or in Northern climates, Do you feel the same way?

Of course personally come around February I've had about enough of the 0 to 20 degrees weather. But hey that's what they invented Brandy for.
I feel the same way about the Holiday's. besides, Santa would have to attach skate boards to his sleigh

BTW, at one time Michigan was called "The Winter Wonderland"

That was back when it snowed and the snow actually STUCK for a few months.

Now we still get snow in November->March but it melts every few weeks (except for maybe Jan 15-Feb 28 when it seems to stay snowy the entire time).

Couldn't agree with you more....deep frying the turkey out on the patio in your shorts on Christmas morning is just NOT Christmas. I haven't had the "feeling" of Christmas since moving to Arizona!!

Snow, cold wet soup on the road. Ahhh, the salt quietly rusting our cars.
The noreasters, wind blowing through our bones.
Michigan, god's country, why because no one else wants it. lol

Natural Michigan, especially in the snow, is beautiful. The fact is, jobs are scarce in many places and one reason many people leave Michigan has to do with work. If you are an artist(like Bob Ross) or a book writer(like William Kurelek), rural Michigan(especially the UP) would be a good place to live.

Not to change the subject, but I hear the Elk and Meese are depleating up in the UP because of a tick problem.
I was in Cheboygan last year.

My Grandfather owned "Caberfae" ski lodge(now known of as Caberae Hills I think) back in the 50's and 60's when it was a log cabin lodge, had just a rope for a ski lift and was free to the public.

I remember when they started to build it up back in the late 60's early 70's. I lived in McBain and would go over there a few times every winter.
