I know there are so many variable to this, so I will give a few details. And just looking for a very ROUGH estimate.

750-1000 sq ft
1 story plus loft
Block crawl space

Would be a bare bones/minimalist cabin, but with running water and plumbing, etc. I could do lots of work myself like roofing, drywall, flooring, siding, install kitchen/bath, and misc labor work.

Any ideas of a price? Materials+build+septic+well+electric= ????

Any help is appreciated!

That ain't a bare bones cabin, my friend.

If you're strapped for cash right now, or just wanna take your time.....may I suggest a mobile home (OMG NOT a trailer ).....

You can hook it up and enjoy the property for now, and then do your cabin thing.

You won't need a building permit for now, and this way you can take your time.

Just a thought....as all that work you're gonna do will require a nice hot shower afterwards.

And when you're finished with the cabin.......you got a guest house!

Woot!

G06021 - Cabin Retreat at Menards
Menards has a few 'kit' homes that are supposed to be most of the home. (They have a 1200sqft for like $32,000, doesn't include a 'base' though) I've checked into it and they seem pretty complete. Well and septic in our area were like $10,000 in the best case scenario (Mid Michigan) Noe sure about electric. We had spoke with a local building company who supplies the loans and you do 90% of the building and the quote we got for a 'basic' 1200 sqft house was like $130,000 from start to finish. I thought that was really high and told them so.

Some time ago, I saw something called "tuff sheds" that sell the actual small building. They call them sheds, but the idea (when you go to the site, you'll see what I mean) is a liveable place. They have them with an extra bedroom, even a loft- and if I remember the prices correctly, they were pretty reasonable- by that, I mean they were in the....five thousands upwards range. I considered it, it looked like a pretty sweet deal, but with kids? Huh uh, lol.

Verobound, where in Leelanau country could you build a 750 to 1000 sq foot cabin and what would the cost of the land be?

Till I retire we built a 24'x24'x10' walls pole barn with a loft on our UP property. We bought in kit form from Big L lumber in Sherdian Michigan. they charged us $300.00 to transpost the $3200.00 Kit to the property. The closest cost they could get at the lumber yards in the UP was over $6000.00 with out a loft.
We drove our own well 25 feet and have a out house down the hill. The floor is treated 2x4's on edge covered with 3/4 inch ply wood. We cook on a propane gas range hooked to a 100 lb tank, heat is a USA brand wood furnace We do not have electric on the property but the place is ablaze with lights when we are there from our gen set.

It is a very enjoyable place to go and spend time. Love it for winter snomobileing and der hunting.
At first we had planed on parking a traval trailer inside but once we saw the kit with the loft that all went out the door.
We added a second service door and 3 windows to the kit.
