Haha - That's so Michigan - people only get out of their cars when forced by the hand of law.

Sorry. continue.

Things have changed dramatically for us here in SE Michigan.

Unemployed and no prospects--other than Mickey D or may be Walmart--but wait I am OvER QUALIFIED...

All while our comatose governor fiddles while the state burns.

Ohh..she has Clint coming here to make movies--and I cannot make it on unemployment WHEN I GET IT ON TIME..

She has high tech business coming in--paying 25% or less of their taxes while I am asked to pay more...

And courts Toyota to build in Ypsi while reducing the mental health services and undermining the Big 3 all at the same time?
\
Now she will be on TV tonight telling me how it will all turn around? When? In my life time?

Yes things are changing here in Michigan--and it may not be the only place in this country ---but it sure seems like EVERYWHERE I look or apply for work outside Michigan, I have like 5-10 responses IMMEDIATELY and 2-3 offers within a few days.

My only decision now, other than choosing a republican to vote in as governor, is what state do I want to move to and should I try to rent the house or just give walk away and add ONE more to the foreclosure list?

Either won't be easy, but the alternative would be to remain in Michigan, stop paying the mortgage and wait the year before being evicted. But what will I have then?

At the very least I would be able to save $12K and be better prepared to move when I am homeless to another state..so why postpone the inevitable>??

I'm not sure when any of this is supposed to happen, but when it does it will mean JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.

What I don't get is why a county with only 150,000 people needs 3 Meijer's stores, 2 Wal-Marts AND a Costco Warehouse, but who am I to question the bigwigs?
As one of 10,000 people who will be applying for JOBS< JOBS<JOBS
I HOPE I get one of them $7.00 hour jobs..

If I work 120 hours a week, I will still be able to pay the mortgage..but wait..I will need gas, a car, insurance, maintenance on the car, electricity to power the alarm clock to wake up for work, food, gas to heat the house in winter,...

Maybe they will hire me for the summer and I won't have too many bills??

Not many signs of hope in SW Michigan. One major employer that announced a year ago they would be adding 3000 jobs over the next 5 years laid off people in Dec. Every for-sale sign is still in the front yard of all the same houses in my neighborhood.

You not going to get any good jobs. We do not want heavy industry in this country. You can not have it both ways.

"We" being who exactly? There are several thousand unemployed in SE MI who would give every tooth in their heads for some heavy industry. Light or medium industry would be mighty fine, too.

Then why all the "tree hugging" when someone wants to open a factory??? Why do people vote for environmentalists???
