Don't know much about the Cemeteries in Elmira, but last time I drove through there in August it looks like there has been a regular re-vitalization of the place. At least compared to how it was 20 years ago when I worked in Gaylord and went through there all the time. Had not been back until Aug of this year and was very pleasantly surprised.

Here is a link to a list of cemeteries around Elmira though. Don't quote me, but if the old noodle remembers right Maple Hill, and Saint Thomas are closest to Elmira.Moderator cut: link removed

bydand, unless there are 2 elmiras it is a town if you can even call it that with one old gas station that has 2 pumps, and the patato pancake rest. You could revitalize it with 1 gal. of paint and 10$ budget.
It is known as the armpit of otsego co. or in contention with vanderbuilt for the title.
The only people who go through it are those who use 32 to get to 131 from 75.
Gaylord is loosing business and jobs at a rate I have never seen. We are even passing the late 70s res.
Many have told me that it is time to give up and flush michigan.

When is the last time you went through Elmira? And if you notice I never said it was a city, or even a town. I said it looked re-vitalized. Maybe a few people got tired of living in a run down little place and spruced it up a bit. Whatever the reason, it looks much better than it did years ago.

Default Ha

I have to agree with you on that. All of the Gaylord area is a nice place to visit. Live there on the other hand no. But I was just in the area in Sept, and the whole area suprised me as in how much it has grown up from when I was a kid.

Yes I think Elmira is looking up! It is a very nice place.
No we are not just going to flush the whole place, We are going to go back to the old saying,"Last one out turn off the lights" I'm going to be the last one out and when they come back I will still be here and first in line for the jobs.
