what are the farthest areas youve seen the skyline of downtown grand rapids, for me its On 10 Mile road west Of Sparta Between 8th St and Kenowa Ave

You can see the skyline on a clear day while going north on 131 somewhere around 84th St, I think, which would be about 8-10 miles from downtown.

I also noticed once that you can see it while driving north on 8th Avenue, a mile or two before you get to M-6.

That high area out by 8th Avenue is gorgeous. Didn't even know if existed before a couple of years ago.

Agreed. I have wanted to go back there and take a picture or two and see how they turn out, but haven't made it yet. There's not much reason to drive through there unless you live in the area. The only reason I stumbled onto it in the first place was because I was exploring and killing time.

that sounds interesting. There are a couple of vantage points over in the Rockford/Belmont area. As people have mentioned 131 south of the 84th st exit, my favorite in that area is the neighborhood off 92nd st just east of the highway its "mini mountain". Also theres 196 eastbound right after 8th ave is Ottawa county.
