Hi, I need help. I'm going to spend a day in Mount Pleasant this Friday, any local stores, restaurants that are unique to the area or other fun things you recommend doing?

Indian Reservation is near there....you can go to the Casino, or just drive around if you've been on an Native American Indian Reservation before. Not much to do there except go to the casino though.

You can also check out Central Michigan University, and head downtown, which is just a typical small small town downtown. But it's there nontheless.

I also recall 'the Dams'....which is where locals go and hangout. I recall walking 'The Tracks'...the railroad tracks from CMU, and would end up the Dams. Not a whole lot to do there either, but might be something anyways.

It's been too long, so I couldn't tell you any specific stores or restaurants in specific. But I'd imagine you could stop by CMU and they'd have flyers and such advertising such things.

Unless you are heading to the casino or to the college, it's mostly a "pass through" town. It does have some good restaurants, the library on campus is pretty good (lots of Michigan history information), the campus is nice to see, and the bookstore just off campus (in front of Warriner Hall) is good. MountainTown brewing is a nice restaurant, micro brews and a decent menu. The downtown area is quaint~won't take you very long to stroll the 2 main streets. Try this for more ideas.

LOL LOL I have been there a few occasions myself and kinda got to agree. Downtown is nice and quaint but certainly not a tourist destination except the casino.

(However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's not a bad town. Clean and charming. Probably a good place for families except the drive to get to family destinations.)
