Howdy folks, i went to this and couldn't stop reading. I aint moving anywhere but cross town. I'm 55 and retired. I feel for the young folk now that have to move. Y'all can always come back to Michigan with some new business ideas and lots of $$$$$. The young folk that stay need to be ontrapanures. If i was a young guy i would buy one of them 10,000 houses and start a business. Its been a long while since minimum wage could buy a house and sad as it is the fall of manifacturing opens up land for new growing. I dont trust any economicists period about nothing! I'm a Vietnam Veteran. How are young vets holding up out there?

I was 17 years old at the start of my service. I lost an arm for your freedom son so show some respect.

Thanks for posting the graph. One reason why the number of lost jobs every month might be "decreasing" is simply that companies have no one else left to layoff. Of course, as they start going out of business, they'll lay off their skeleton crews.

Default I moved to Texas

I'm from the Flint area, grew up there. I loved it as a kid and I visit twice a year. I still have family there. It great to see my friends and family. But I feel bad because of the economic conditions and the politics.

I lived in MI. in 2002 then I was tranferred out. I had a chance to move back to Michigan but I moved to the Hill Country in Texas in 2005 (Austin to San Antonio). I could see the handwriting on the wall.

This is the prettiest part of Texas. It reminds me of the Hartland, Howell area. Surprisingly it is very green. Here there are rivers, some lakes, plenty of grass, with lot of hills and trees. Granted the trees are not huge but there are plenty and tall enough to provide some shade.

I'm in sales and in the last 20 years I've lived in FL,TN, MI, GA & now TX. People who move here either like it or hate it. They embrace it or complain it is not like where they came from.

For us it's a great place to raise our family. Personally I like it more every day.
