Default Michigan racism

I dont live everywhere in Michigan, so I cant really answer this question. Rather your live in Michigan or not, I still would like to hear your comment. How bad is Michigan racism... where does it exist the most or shall I say where do you find it more comman? Can you tell me a experience you witness or was a victim of racism in Michigan? If you really havent been a witness or victim of racism in Michigan, what did you hear about Michigan racism? Answering these questions will help me out alot, I hope no one gets offended by this thread or the comments/ post that will be made. ( If you so happen to get offended, I'm truley sorry.) This is to help me get a better understanding of Michigan, thats all I'm asking for.
- Thank you ( Excuse all of the faces made. )

Default Hopefully things have changed since the 60s

I grew up in the 50s and 60s in Flint; a time where racism was accepted.

My late mother-in-law was an extreme racist. Not only did she vote for George Wallace, she campaigned for him!

Hopefully I turned out better.

There is racism all over the world and Michigan is no exception but I seriously don't think Michigan is any worse than any other place.

Detroit is one of the top 5 most segregated cities in the US (along with Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cleveland and Newark).

I'm not sure that automatically equates to racism, but it's not a good sign.

There are cities with large segregated tracts (South Side of Chicago) or small segregated tracts (Point Breeze, Philadelphia). Depending on how large of an area you define for your stats, Chicago can easily look more segregated than Philadelphia, even though the small area of Point Breeze (African-American) doesn't interact at all with Bella Vista next to it (Italian-American). But when you look at Point Breeze and Bella Vista in the larger context of "South Philly," all of a sudden, Philadelphia looks like a diverse city.

Overall, I would say very few cities in the US are truly "non-segregated" with regular interaction between different peoples - NY and SF maybe lead the field with other cities improving. Detroit definitely lags behind, but so do most US cities.

You may not face any racism but with spelling like that you might face some spellism.

Guys thanks for the comments. I know this topic may be found hard to talk about to many people. I encourage people to give me a brief of what they witness or was a victim of. Ofcourse I know racism exist more other than Michigan, but my point was coming across the area of Michigan. Reason, I should share it to myself. I wouldnt say its important, I just want to "again" get the point of view of other people. Some people may believe a paticular action was racism or injustice and others may not. I'm just trying to get a more broad view ( I hope I completed the sentence right. ) So with that being said, please feel free to place your comment.
Thanks
