What would you prefer?
Do you think Michigan should flee the USA and join with Canada? Many people I ran into actually prefer for Michigan to join with Canada... not in a negative way but said simply it was meant to be. Others I ran into simply said what state would leave a greater country for a great one? What would you prefer?
On the other hand, is Canada even ready for a state like Michigan or would Canada even want Michigan? Would Michigan become its own providence or just simply join with another? Could this thought of Michigan leaving the USA be consider even possible? Would Michigan do better without USA? Tell me please, what is your oppinion.

I would prefer the U.P. break off of Michigan and become it's own state. Does that count?

Ok, I'll discuss some thoughts on this question since it is Sunday morning and the Packer's game isn't on for another four hours.
One question that is posed is "Would Canada even want Michigan?" A quick review of a map answers the question in the affirmative. If Michigan were to become part of Canada, Canada would gain total control of Lake Huron and most of Lake Superior. My belief is that Canada would love to control a resource that will probably grow in importance due to a variety of reasons.
Now there are obviously an incredible amount of other arguments pro and con, but let me explore just one on the negative side from Canada's perspective. Since Canada's health care system is taxpayer funded, current taxpayers probably would not relish the idea of suddenly supporting a huge amount of new recipients flooding their system. This is kind of a fun topic to discuss, because the proposal really is "Thinking outside of the box". I'll respond separately to Jeeg's plea for U.P. Statehood.

This is a very interesting/fun topic to talk about. I'm glad people are posting their oppinions because I really would like to hear them.
1. I doubt the UP can be stable without the hand.
2. I think Canada may enjoy control of many lakes... and more major cities.
3. Canada could dump their trash in Ohio, but they probaly would countinue to dump it in Michigan, or Ontario.
4. I dont know about the guns or citizenship.

Boy talk about out of the box thinking, you got that right I would say Canada would love to have the Detroit Red Wings on their side of the border, I'm sure they would love to controll the great lakes by 80% that way when they dump chemicals into the Huron River they wouldn't have to worry about anyone complaining, The other thing is they would also pick up a Great Baseball team and Basketball team and also the Lions so they would come out ahead that's for sure. I just wonder what the price tag would be on Michigan maybe 10 Million that way every resident would get a dollar which would be worth more in Canada The other thing is everyone would get Health Insurance and we wouldn't have to elect Clinton to get it. But we would still have Grandhole cause then she could be come Priminster instead of just a Governor and everyone in Michigan would have to end every sentance with ah!

Canadians own more guns than Americans, they just find ways to not shoot each other with them.
