There are some profitable spots in SE Mi. Why not we keep all the good stuff. (energy related mostly ).... and trash the bad stuff, like , sell it to Ohio ! They will buy anything.
When the dust has settled , the UP can be free , along with Vermont , and a few other islands....... GR will become the new Michigan's largest city

The UP is very nice. If we could find jobs there, we would join you! As far as its being its own state - could it be any worse off than teh rest of the state?
