Hi,

My husband, son and I are planning on moving to Michigan at the end of November or December. We are having problems with our landlady at our current apartment so we really need to find a new place to live. I have been accepted at Andrews University and plan on being a student starting next fall. I have been doing some research and have found the apartment search quite difficult. There are a couple options but most are not really discussed online.

As far as the place we would like to live.

One. It needs to be very safe. My son is five, just started kindergarten, and is in a special needs class. He has been diagnosed with a global developmental delay.

Two. The doctors and geneticists are not sure what the cause of his delays are, so he would need to have access to a very good special needs program.

Three, my husband is currently a composition, English, and social studies tutor online. He has a master's in English and two bachelor's in English and history, so he would probably get a job in education.

Four, We do not have much money for an apartment. Our max is 600-700 a month.

Five, I would prefer not to have a very long commute to my son's school. The closer the better. I am willing to commute about 25 minutes for my college classes but would prefer less.

Do any of you know an apartment complex that would fit our needs? I don't think we are going to be able to come up to visit before moving. I know this sounds crazy but it looks like we are going to have to move short notice, if not to Michigan, probably to Columbia or to my husband's parents house.
