First Major Storm of the season...
Predictions, please...
Of course, whenever I plan to make the 2.5 hour trek from northern Michigan back to my old stomping grounds in the Hartland area, it has to storm. So I've bumped up my travel time from Sunday morning (when everything should be buried in snow, ice and slop if the forecasts are to be believed) to this evening after hubby gets home from work (which will hopefully see me only driving through light snow... I know, for being born and raised in Michigan, I am a sissy). With any luck, they will have the roads passable by the time I need to come home on Monday morning...
So.... what's your prediction? I've heard 7-10 inches of snow in mid-Michigan. I'm going to guess 5, because it seems like whenever they predict a huge storm, it fizzles. It's when they predict 1-2inches that I worry!
Happy snowman making.... Everyone stay safe!

Im a fan of the snow, but sadly everytime I tune into the local forcast it changes.
Now it seems if we are lucky we will get at least 3 inches... they are predicting now that we may see only 1.5 inches or so. Computer predicted a few days ago about 10 inches for the Capital City... the weather guy said he thinks the computer is wrong and predicted 2-4 inches. I'm not so happy with the lack of snow from this hudge storm... but maybe over midnight snow will accumulate more.

Grand Rapids area: some freezing rain, pretty uneventful, up to 40 degrees tomorrow so it will probably just be a big slushy mess tomorrow.

Scratch my earlier post. We got a nice couple of inches of ice on everything this morning in Grand Rapids, and then it started to rain and melt it all into slush-puddles. I'd take a foot of snow over that crap any day.

I talked to my parents several hours ago ... shoveling slush in Metro Detroit. Yuck.
It rained cats and dogs here in mid-state Illinois today. We may see snow in the next two weeks, but maybe not. Last year, I had to drive up to Chicagoland to see piles of snow. (Then, it was dry over Christmas and New Year's ... Nubs and the Boynes had NO natural snow!)
