I recently moved to FL but Im planning on moving back to my homestate, MI. I have lived in Midland and Grand Rapids but Im trying to see what other cities I could possibly move to. I would like to try the eastern part of the state and I'd love to be very close to water. I need help because I am not too familiar with the eastern part of Michigan. I am a recent grad so entry level jobs is what im looking for.

Any help would be much appreciated!

P.S. OH! I know the amount of snow is different from city to city and I get seasonal depression so if you have any random cities that dont get as much snow as say, TC or Holland/GR, let me know.

Part of your decision -- since you want to be near the water -- is this: Do you want to watch the sun SET over the lake, or RISE from the lake.

Sounds silly, but I find myself completely weirded out when I am in Milwaukee and the sun does not SET over Lake Michigan!

In the Holland, Grand Haven area, we have always been able to enjoy Lake Michigan sunsets and I would find it very difficult to get used to anything else.

I'm on the SUNRISE SIDE, as we fondly call ourselves here on the shores of Lake Huron. I must say, a cup of coffee and the sunrise over the lake is a great way to start your day!

What is your degree in? If you have anything in the medical field, the Tawas St. Joseph hospital is growing and seems to be hiring frequently. Can't say that there is a lot going on up here for younger people, including families, so if kids are in your future, you might want to look further south or up towards Alpena. Tawas is beautiful but still trying to figure out if it's going to be just a retirement community or suffer growing pains.

Good luck in your decision making. Florida sounds awefully good to me right now... we have about 6 inches of snow right now and I'm sad to say I'm sick of winter already.
