Fact: All corporations in the U.S. get massive subsidies from the government. Fact: GM sales are up, not down. Fact: Just like the Ford Explorer/Firestone rollover fiasco and the Toyota accidental acceleration cover-up, it will blow over in a few media cycles. Fact: If you have a problem with government subsidies to corporations, fine. If you have a problem with corporate malfeasance, fine. But tying the two together?

Also, don't start trolling threads and then send alerts to the moderator because you got your feelings hurt. This I can't stress enough. If you're going to start political debates, grow a thick skin.

Mary Barra seems to be in a no-win situation, but that doesn't need to be as obvious as it appears. From what I saw the other night, she isn't expressing herself in an advantageous manner; time for much better pr coaching! And work on the voice would help...wow. Unfortunately that shrill tone doesn't help. It certainly should not matter, and yet the people are watching carefully, listening, and forming important opinions about the company.

Exactly. I'd be posting from North Carolina right now if GM and all its suppliers went belly up, and I don't even work in automotive.

Sorry to break this to you but GM can't be sued. They were granted immunity from lawsuits thanks to the bailout agreement.

There was a personal attack and it wasn't even against me. Do your job.

I think that was just protection from creditors. Customers can still sue if it's related to using the company's products.

Barra is a GM lifer, no different than any of the other employees who've worked their way up the corporate ladder to a position of authority. Same cultural mindset that allows this kind of ass covering, interdepartmental finger pointing, penny squeezing negligence to happen in the first place.

Oh, she has a vagina, has only been CEO for a couple of months and is busting out the mommy card to victim's families.
Sorry, no sale sister. After thirty years with the company you can be very sure she knows exactly how things work around there.

Not to mention, the auto bailouts were started during the Bush years. Nice troll post, OP.

Then I guess those 100 law suits filed around the country are moot? Think again...only MONSANTO has immunity. GM is fair game.

HEY! I'm from Chicago, I don't know about your politics in Michigan.

I strongly remember a pic of the smiling grinning Obama parading about and bragging how he bailed out the auto industry soon after he got in office.

DONT BE RUDE.
