I understand, it's frustrating to say the least. So many towns like Jackson have such potential...but the paper-pusher idiots with no taste have the power. It always frustated my father who, despite his best efforts for years, could not win. He was an honest, kind, intelligent man...he retired from the city after 35 years and was relieved to do so. They put a younger, over confident idiot in his place. I know what you are saying Mitten...sorry we started off on the wrong foot.

I have lived in jackson for 22 years and if i may say i think it is a really bad place to raise kids. There were 5 homicides in jackson the week of October 26th- November 2nd alone. That is the highest that our crime rate has been in a long time. I am doing a report for my college english class on the crime rates in jackson and I feel that it has gotten a lot worse over the years. I would not recommend anyone bringing their children here. Its not a safe place for children. At least not until they get the crime rates back down. My sister is raising my niece and my nephew on the south side of jackson which is the worst part of town to live on because of all of the drugs and murders. She only lives 5 houses down from where all those murders took place last week and I am always terrified for her everytime she goes outside or takes my nephew outside to put him on the school bus.
