Smile Beaver Island.

Has anyone been to Beaver Island? I have friend that owned a cottage on Beaver Island before he sold it.

Thanks John.

Hi John! Just found your post..just wanted to let you know I've been going to Beaver Island all my life! My mother was a from there (she was a Gatliff) and I still have MANY relatives that have homes there and either live there year around or spend the summers there and any other time they can go up there even for a weekend. I don't know if you've been there but if not, I hope you'll make the effort to make the trip. If you like to relax (fish, hunt, swim boat, camp, drink, etc) that's the place to be....great views and beautiful sunsets on the water! And if you're Irish, you're right at home!! ~Cheryl

Beaver Island is great! My friends have a cottage there. It's so small that their phone book used to be a couple of mimeographed sheets. People can safely hitchhike there (I would NEVER anywhere else) because you just pick up anybody you see walking. A very cool and pretty place, although they are serious drinkers there..

Been there. Beautiful. I've been there for a music fest a couple of times. There is a ferry that takes you out- about and hour ride or so. You can also fly. It is very rustic, has very few shops. I recommend checking it out.

What do people do there for work? I mean, it's pretty isolated so there can't be much of an economy, is there?
