My boyfriend and I are in the process of moving to Holland and I was REALLY excited at first to see a lot of the apartment listings were coming up as 'pet friendly'

HOWEVER

they all seem to be the '40lb and under' type thing - NO ONE is large dog friendly!! anyone know of apartments that are well-behaved, non puppy, references included...LARGE dogs???

any help is appreciated

As someone who has always had large dogs I know how hard it is to find a rental that allows them. My advice is if you find a place you really like go ahead and contact to the owner directly. Show them some cute pics of your well-behaved dog, give them your references to contact. You might end up with a new place or you might not. It's worth a shot. This has worked for me in the past and, now that I own my home, it works for me when booking vacation cottages. Even places that say "no dogs" will sometimes bend the rules a bit if you're sincere and show them you're a good risk.

WE FOUND A PLACE!!

we did try what you had mentioned (I even made a doggie resume!!) and we actually did get past a few 'No Pet' listings!! but in the end the place that worked out the best for us was one that was listed dog friendly....we just were able to work with them on the weight restrictions
