well it is possible but with no car that would be hard you have to walk everywhere which is possible but kind of a pain, in the winter. You can get many good deals renting out a house or living with someone else. You just have to make sure that your room mate would except the two dogs. Good luck on your search!!!

It depends where in the city. If you live close enough to campus, you'll only need a car/bus to go to a supermarket on the edge of town.

Transportation shouldn't be too much of a problem. Ann Arbor has a pretty good bus system for a city of that size, and it has also taken steps to accommodate bicyclists. UM also has its own separate bus system. Zipcar (the car-sharing program) is available in Ann Arbor, which may come in handy when you want to get your dogs to the vet. The downtown and campus areas are pleasant places for walking. But rents are high, especially if you have to find a place that will allow two dogs.

You're much better off without a car in Ann Arbor. There is no place to park -- I mean, parking is nonexistent -- and the resulting fees and tickets are brutal on a student's finances. There is a great bus system and if you live in the downtown campus area, everything is within walking distance anyway. If you are on North Campus, there is a free bus to the main campus.
There is often a damage deposit for pets. Go with it; it's much better than living in a student apartment too crab-infested and vile to require the deposit. |
