My husband and I are looking at moving from CA to MI. We are visiting the Ann Arbor area in March and are really interested in Dexter. Does anyone know of any apartments in the ann arbor area? We really would like to get as much done as far as checking out the area and looking for possible apartments so that when we are ready to move we have can pretty much go. any information about Dexter or Ann Arbor or surrounding areas is very much appreciated. I'm excited about moving to MI as I'm from Ontario Canada and it would be nice to be back in the area. My husband is a native Californian so it will be harder for him, I think. But all in all we are just looking forward to actually living life and not working so hard to live.

Dexter is beautiful. A really nice place.
I'm not really sure about apartments in the area, as I lived in Howell and worked in Dexter for a year back in 2003, but the internet should have alot of info on apartments. When you find one, make sure to look them up in apartmentratings.com. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Dexter is also home of Katharine Dexter McCormick who was a leader in the Womens Suffrage movement. It has a very active sports program in their schools and several championship team the last few years. It is also the 10th city in the nation to have a "Pride and Honor Flight" so that veterans could fly to Washington DC and see the WWII memorial for a very reduced rate. It is home to 1 of only 3 schools in the State and of about 80 in the entire US that was awarded the "National School To Watch" designation sense 1999, by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform.

There is a lot more to a town that a couple of idiots.

Dexter is a nice town. There are a lot of terrific towns arouns Ann Arbor. In addition to Dexter look at Chelsea, Manchester, Tecumseh, and maybe even Dundee. Saline is ok too, but not as neat as the other towns.

Check out Dexter and Chelsea. Two great little towns that really care about their area. Often there are little things going on such as the farmers markets from spring to fall, new libraries, great little downtown shoppings and not too far from Ann Arbor. Chelsea is having a rough time in the real estate market as of right now but perhaps that might work if you are going to purchase a house. Not many apartments compared to some place like Ann Arbor but there are some there. And there is a little slower pace of life out just a bit in the 'country'.

Good luck on your search!

Ann Arbor has almost nothing but apartment complexes and nice old house split up into apartments in the campus area. There are really too many to list. I would suggest looking farther out for an affordable place to live.

If you want to buy, Chelsea, Brighton, and Milford are all about 15-20 mins away and very affordable. The asking prices are high but some places have been on the market for years with no offers. You can knock off 30% easily, sometimes up to 75%.
