Default Instate and Outstate Support

This should help Michigan get on the road to recovery.
Batstater makes a great point about also looking toward outsiders for new ideas, skills, and capital. I oftern see posts that talk about the lack of economic activity in the state, and then decry outsiders who invest in the state. For example, I see a lot of negativity when people from outside the state come in to Michigan. Comments like "Oh ya, all those people with money from (Illinois, Wisconsin,...etc.) just come in here and buy up all our cheap land. They have no right to do that." Sure they do, and they should be welcome. It seems like we want to have the proverbial "cake and eat it too" philosophy. We say there are no jobs and then are afraid that we may have to compete with people with skills from other regions. Let's get rid of the "Lansing must protect us" mentality. Let's be more agressive in marketing ourselves and our state.

Looks like all the blustering that people like bush and limbaugh talk about, that the economy is in good shape is all hype, it keeps slipping. I think you will see Michigan have one of its worst winters. Homes keep falling in price and even then no one wants to buy. Construction jobs drying up. Manufacturing jobs leaving. the only sector in the us that is still growing is health and education.
So many people who need to sell but can not, or need to buy but can not. We need change in the whole country.
Michigan will go into a depression if something is not done.
