Default Nursing/Hospitals in Michigan

I have a rather unique question that I thought I'd throw out here to see if anyone has had any experience with. We are interested in moving into our first house in Michigan, but have a bit of a dilemma

My wife will be completing her nursing degree (RN) within the year and has been working for 3 (or around?) years with a hospital in Indiana where we currently reside. She signed a contract where her current work is paying for her schooling but in turn she will work at the hospital for 2 years after obtaining her degree.

Has anyone heard of hospitals in Michigan ever buying-out a contract like this? She'd sign on for a number of years with the MI hospital, making a new contract with them and they'd handle the cost of her schooling?

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this sort of thing. We were looking at hospitals in the Sturgis, Battle Creek, possibly Kalamazoo area.

Thanks!

I don't know about buying out contracts from other hospitals. I do know that hospitals here do offer that same contract. We pay for school but you work for us for 'X' amount of time...so it is possible...

Yeah, I heard from a few friends of mine that some of the MI hospitals offered the same type of deal. Also my wife knows a few nurses that have moved within the state and not broken their contract (though it may have been moving within the hospital network).
