There is a lot to be positive about. We live in a beautiful state with green forests, abundant water, beautiful snow, beautiful springs, pleasant summers, and incredible falls. Wildlife is all around us. Flowers, berries and fruits grow everywhere. We can grow vegetables, grains, and other food right in our back yard with minimal effort if we choose. We have clean water to drink, clean air to breathe, and plenty of open space to play in. We can fish, swim, skate, sled, hike, ski (x-c), and participate in many many other activities right in or very near our yards. Most of us are gainfully employed. Most of us are solvent. Probably everyone on this list has food and shelter available to them and also obviously has internet access. Most probably also have television if they want it. Most have friends and/or families who care for them. Our State offers very good to excellent public schools in most places. Our universities cannot be beat. We have grocery stores stocked with food from all over the world. We have merchandise stores with products of every type readily available. We can read and write in our native language. We do nto have to wait in lines for food, fuel or merchandise. Most of us have cell phones, computers, electronic games, some means of watching movies as desired, as well as various other forms of entertainment right in our residences.
Yes. we are in a significant recession, but that is just money. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't. It is certainly nothing to get upset about unless you enjoy being upset. For at least part of your life you will believe that you have money problems. If you get upset about it, you are choosing to spend a significant portion of your life being upset. Moving will not resolve your money problems, they will go with you. It may lessen them for a while, but money problems come and go. Or, for some people they come and keep on coming depending on how much you think that you need. If you have to move in order to continue to eat, then you have to move. If you like it here come back when you can. However it makes no sense to grouse continually and blame your state for the state of your personal finances. This is a beautiful place filled with great people. If you hate it, go elsewhere and leave the rest of us here to enjoy it. If you think that you can find a place with no problems, by all means move there immediately. But let the rest of us who like Michigan enjoy life here without the constant complaining by those who chose to leave. You can actually leave quietly and then you can post ont he threads in your new place, how wonderful, great and perfect that place is.
Besides, we are well into the recession. The economy will continue its cycle and things will begin to improve. In fact, we are probably close to half way through the current recession, maybe better than half.
