Anyone familiar with these cities, and anything else along I-29 between New Baltimore to Marine City?

If so, impressions of them?

I think that highway your looking for is I-94. Ive only been over there once, but it seemed nice along the river there. Lots of boating, fishing going on in that part of the state.

That's what I thought as well. 29 is just a regular 2 lane road as far as I know.

Yes 29, the regular 2 lane road...the one that hugs the coastline....not I-94. More interested in those towns along the coast/river there.

For future reference, I-29 runs through Missouri, Iowa, South and North Dakota!

Anyways, any impressions on New Baltimore, Algonac, or Marine City?

I drove through them, and all looked interesting enough...but I don't really know them at all.

It's been a while since the last post but I would love to know more about these areas too. I can't find much info on them. Maybe the whole town is asleep! ; )

I would recommend going just a little further north to St. Clair. New Baltimore is a pretty nice town, Marine city is a nice quiet little down, small little downtown area, very small town setting.

Algonac, well I am sure I am going to offed some people here, but its kind of Hillbilly. Most anyone in the surround communities will tell you that. For those of you that do live in Algonac, don't take what I said the wrong way, there is nothing at all wrong with algonac, but people do want a true opinion from people, my personal opinion is that Algonac is a little bit like Taylor, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

All of these cities offer places on or very near the water. Northern Algonac, Marine City and St. Clair will all be on the St. clair river. Southern Algonac and New Baltimore will offer you places on or near Lake St. Clair. (The gateway to the great lakes).

I really like them. I use the ferries to go to Canada, and often stop for lunch in Marine City. They seem like very nice towns. They've been there for a long time, and have a fairly vivid history quite different from that of Michigan farm towns.
