I've never lived there, have visited several times, have family that live nearby and go there quite often, so can't give you any real solid info. But it does seem kinda run down, and we are actually considering that area also. Housing is pretty cheap, though the schools seem to be pretty bad. I think parts of Battle Creek are a mini-ghetto. Also consider Hastings and Marshall. I just remember Hastings being a nice area, it's been a long time since I was there so can't say for sure. Marshall is very nice, really neat, historical, quaint little town. Beautiful around Christmas time, they also have this neat little park thing called Turkeyville, really neat place to spend a day w/the family.

If you get any good info let me know, I'm still considering the area for relocation.

Default Not Bad

Battle Creek is obviously not a "destination city" by any standards, but there are several school districts that are of fair or good quality. Lakeview, Harper Creek, and Pennfield school districts are all options on the outlying areas of Battle Creek that are reputable. Battle Creek Central in downtown Battle Creek is the only high school that has a rougher reputation, however, it is more diverse.
