Well -- I'm used to driving out west and so Michigan doesn't seem all that big -- and if someone wants to see Michigan it's good to see the north and the bridge. I guess I'd rather do that drive in the summer though.

Yeah, Mighty Mac can be a scary ride in the winter when the wind and snow start whipping around. That's why they escort people when the weather is bad, so they don't end up at the bottom of the straits! A lot of times the view of and from the bridge is obstructed in the winter also.....I definitely recommend making that trek between May and October.

I too have a love affair with the state of Michigan, however I have been there many times.

I just saw this thread and was wondering how your trip went? Did you make it? Where did you end up going?
