Default Buying Land

With how the real estate prices are right now, I was thinking of purchasing some land in Michigan to later build on in a few years. Looking for 2-3 acre's in south/middle Michigan.

Hows the prices for the land up there? I'm sure they're not falling like the house prices, but how much are they dropping?

Thanks.

Best bet would be a realty site, not the word of complete strangers. I would try Realtor.com or any site that links to the Michigan MLS.

Actually, land prices have fallen more than house prices. Always exceptions, but that's the general rule. You might find land for half what it went for three years ago. Good luck.

Well this is in Mattawan Michigan (Kalamazoo is the big city close by), but my parents have sold 2 parcels of land recently. One was a 10 acre piece which went for $12,000 an acre and then a 20 acre piece which went for $10,000 an acre. I would just check the local Realtor, or depending on where your located, drive around and check out where you would like to purchase land.

I would not give 2000 and acre in Michigan, you are only asking for a butt reaming.

It is going for about $3000 around me. I will buy. Just not yet. I am watching one 80 and one 100 acre piece.
