Default What is Bay City Like?

I am thinking of visiting my father in Linwood (north of Bay City) and I am wondering what it is like in the summer AND winter. I am debating on when to go.

Also, does Bay City have good restaurants, night life, etc? I am still quite young and I do not want to sit at home all month if I visit him.

How is recreation?

Bay city's known for it's nightlife. You should have a good time, just look around and ask people where to go.

Thanks for the replies! What do you mean by Bay City being known for nightlife? Are there lots of clubs, bars, venues? Do a lot of bands tend to come there?

I might be there for a month, so I'd like lots of details on what to do to entertain myself. Thanks again!

It's just know in the tri city area for it's nightlife. The bands that play are local. Checkout Midland street near downtown, in Bay city. Also some other places are scattered around. Basically there's lots of bars there. Maybe you'd like the Coast in Nearby Saginaw: MySpace.com - The Coast - 21 - Male - SAGINAW, MICHIGAN - www.myspace.com/thecoastsaginaw

I have been through Bay City and dont know much about it. I do however know that Michigan is #1 on the unemployment list and we are seeing more and more move away. It can get pritty cold up here in the winter months and the cost of living can be high. You would want a good stable job before you move up here cuz otherwise, youre gonna be standing in line behind your neighbors in the unemployment lines. It is really bad up here and with the factories going broke and moving, it dont help matters.

Don't think he is moving there, but I go to Bay City quite a bit since my wife is from there. Summer is best with the river roar, pub crawl and so on. (also hooters) luckily you will be close to many places to visit in the area. Also some good beaches in the general area. Oh, bring your pole because lots of good fishing around!
