Hello. My wife and I are going to the Inn at Union Pier for our 10th anniversary at the end of this month and I'm having a hard time finding a nice romantic place to go for dinner. The nicest place I've found is the Copper Rock Steakhouse at Four Winds New Buffalo. I don't mind splurging, but that place is just a little out of my range. I don't mind driving a little ways (probably up to a half hour or so from Union Pier) to find a nice place. Preferably north and east since we're coming from Chicago. Any recommendations are appreciated!! Thanks!!

There's Timothy's and Frankie's Other Place, both in UP. Further up Red Arrow you'll find Grand Mere Inn (in Stevensville). In New Buffalo there's the Bentwood Tavern (more upscale than it sounds) and the Terrace Room at the Harbor Grand. Or pop over to Three Oaks and go to Elm Street Bistro. Also try the Tabor Hill Winery dining room in the Buchanan area.

I've been hearing a LOT of great things about Three Oaks and the restaurants there. Spillovers from New Buffalo/Chicago money.

Thanks guys. The lady at the Inn where we're staying also recommended Grand Mere and a place called D'Augostino's.

Not impressed at all with d'Agostino's. Not much of a step up fro Olive Garden, IMHO. You'd be much happier at one of the other restaurants mentioned.
