Lightbulb looking for a place for meditation

Hi,
I am looking for a place to rent for daily (weekday) meditations. I
need some space for a couple of hours everyday, which I am unable to
secure at home. I live in Westland, MI and would like to find a place in or close to detroit metro area.

I am not really looking for any classes. Does anybody know of a
fitness/yoga place that offers this kind of service? I know this is a
long shot, but considering the number of meditation groups popping
up these days, I feel that such there is a finite chance that one
should be able to find such a place.

Thanks.
Neelanjana

Maybe somebody at Jewel Heart (the Tibetan Buddhist center) in Ann Arbor could give you some leads. There is (or used to be) a Hari Krishna place in Ann Arbor, too. Some Christian and Unitarian churches also hold centering prayer sessions, which is basically meditation.

I'm told there also are (or used to be) motels in the Detroit area that charged by the hour, though such places may not provide an atmosphere conducive to meditation.

Hi Neelanjana,

Have you ever read Phenomenews? You can pick it up for free at places such as health food stores, new age type shops, and the like. There are all kinds of classes, centers, gatherings, and the like listed throughout around the articles as well as a calendar of goings-on and a classifieds. If you check it out online there aren't as many listings, but they do have a great directory that might get you started. Most of the listings are in SE Michigan.

Welcome to Phenomenews.com

Hope this helps,

Jeri
