Wow! If you are planning on spending two weeks are you staying in one place or do you move around and really "do" the state. Some of the great things to see or experience might include:
Soo Locks Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island Sleeping Bear Dunes Saugatauk (sp) Fred Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village University of Michigan and Michigan State University campuses State Capital (great tour) Traverse City and the cherry orchards/wineries Frankenmuth and Bronners Christmas Store Detroit and the Ren Cen Holland |

there are many gorgeous places to visit in Michigan, and our summers are incredible - perfect temperatures 70s-80s.
i have lived and explored here my entire life, here are some must-sees *the state's west coast - grand haven to the top (stops along the way in empire, cross village, traverse city, petoskey area) *leelanau peninsula *torch lake *Copper Harbor *Beaver Island *The Au Sable River (perfect for canoeing and tubing) around the Mio area *Detroit - Motown museum, Tigers game, the international jazz festival, comerica tastefest, etc. Also, Windsor, Ontario (right across the bridge) is nice *The Irish Hills area in south central Michigan is beautiful) *Ann arbor has some nice summer events *Oscoda ..... the list goes on. Come and enjoy our beautiful state! |

If you make it to the UP you should check out the Pictured Rocks. Take the boat tour, it's worth it.

If you or anyone you know has access to a boat, that'd be great. Michigan boasts over 11,000 inland lakes (the most in the U.S.,) plus being surrounded by four out of the five Great Lakes. Also Traverse City and the wineries.

Hike the Black and Presque Isle rivers in the far western Upper Peninsula. Go to Bond falls, the pictured rocks, and the waterfalls around Munising. Hike the beaches along the north shore of Lake Michigan near Manistique.
Traverse City is nice when there are no tourists around, but during the summer all you can see are people, cars, and motels. |

Check out Grand Haven. It's a nice little tourist town that can be fun during the summer. You can walk all over the place and fish off of the dock by the lighthouse.
