I'm not gonna lie, I felt like I was in nuclear winter for most of January. I'm sure my vitamin D level is at 0, lol. On a positive note, I do prefer snow to rain. KY had rain probably 360 out of 365 days last year.

Well, it's the 2nd of February and we've already tied the number of sunny days we had in all of January.

And not only is it sunny today, but warm as well! The sunny days earlier this month were all in the 20s, but it's about 40 here in Detroit today. That groundhog is a terrible meteorologist. In fact, according to this questionably-reliable source, he's only been right about 39% of the time, so statistically I could flip a coin and have better accuracy than the Groundhog.

It was 14F and sunny by Crystal Falls and Iron River and adjacent areas of northern WI when I was there a few days ago. Great day for winter photography

Michigan has the worst winters seriously. saw some informal study list and MI was 2nd from the worst, forget which was the worst but I remember thinking naw, MI has it beat.
North Dakota and Minnesota, Montana have it colder, some places even more snow - but we have less sun than just about anywhere and the sunless winter is just so freaking long. Traverse City has about the same amount of sun as Seattle annually, but the sunless part is all packed into the winter. Its traumatizing! Was just in Florida for a week. No wonder just about everyone I met was from somewhere in Michigan.

I'd like to know who started this whole ground hog day thing. And who keeps it going?! I bet if they stopped doing it, no one would even notice. *hint hint*
