Hey Golden! "This board" is only as amazing as it's ppl! That's what makes it SO great! I have just been a member now for a little over a week in process of looking to relocate. I have been finding the more I share on the board, the more focused my direction and the closer I am coming to making a decision! Hats off to CD! It was an awesome idea and can only improve as more ppl join and *positively* share.

Once you cross the bridge you will head west on US2. US2 Will pick up US41 in Rapid River and M35 in Gladstone. So after you pass through Gladstone you are on US2&41, M35 all the same road. You will want to leave Escanaba on M35 south heading to Green Bay. The 4th set of stop lights is mainstreet and where US2&41 turn right heading west and south. Continue straight on M35 south taking the lake to menominee and pick up US41 there on to GreenBay. Its all really well marked and the direction is to stay on M35 south.

The reason I point this out is because alot of people who travel through here turn on US41 out of Escanaba because they know they will eventually end up on US41 in Menominee. But getting on 41 out of Escanaba will cost ya 30 to 45 minutes, is a more hectic drive and the lakeviews on M35 are worth taking the shorter path.

Trying to give you reps for this one, but the little scale won't open... ? I'll keep trying. Good to point this out - I remember getting lost in the dark my first couple of times through up there between coming and going. You've laid it all out - nice job!

The Bridge = Mackinac Bridge. Between the UP and the lower Peninsula.

If it was the reference to the N.MI bridge (Mackinaw), then no. But I'm finding more folks who don't like driving bridges (?) and thought it'd be good for someone to know - just in case. I did see there was a toll increase March 1st:

Mackinac Bridge Authority

If it was the reference to the MKE (Milwaukee) Interchange, it isn't necessarily a bridge, but if you take the wrong turn, then you might end up on one. The main thing there is to follow the the detour signs which can be more difficult than it would seem. Even locals get turned around. It's a long-term project, so the signs change with the construction progress. You can actually sign up to get alerts for changes:

Marquette Interchange Project

Hope that helps!

Just as a reminder to everybody who does cross the Mac, they do have a driving assistance that doesn't cost anything. They have people that will drive you across the bridge.

Really?! I didn't know that. You mean, they will get in your car and drive it for you? I wonder about insurance liabilities for that.

Last summer I got on Chesapeake-Bay Bridge - 23 miles. I don't really think I knew that before I crossed it, and I did get a little nervous once I was inside where I could see water drizzling along the walls. But once on the other side, I was glad I had driven it. Then when I saw saw the Bay Bridge following - I was glad to have finally make it to dry land.

Here's a listing of other long bridges by length and location:

Default It's easy

Take Hwy 31 from Traverse City to I-75 and then cross the Mackinac Bridge. Go west on US 2 to Escanaba, then follow the signs to Green Bay.
