Default When does school start?
Up here it starts after labour day and goes untill the end of June. I heard school there (elementary) gets out June 13. So I was wondering how to find out when it starts in the fall 2008.

I believe after labor day also, is not the entire state now?

State law - school must start after labor day.

Almost all schools start the day after.
I have heard a few start the Monday after.

We haven't moved there yet, so I don't know which school we will be going to. I am trying to plan when to come down....and when family can come visit us. sometimes school starts at the end of August here...but not every year.

Law in Michigan is that school can not start until after Labor Day.

Is that a newer law? Because when I was growing up we always started in late August... of course that was 20-some years ago! I was just wondering... but I guess the fact that all of my kids start school AFTER Labor Day answers my own question! LOL!

Was it last year or the year before that was signed into law? Don't remember exactly, but yes, it is fairly new.
