Default Boyne Falls - Any Tips?

We leave early Monday morning for a week at Grand Mountain Lodge. Two families, with a total of 4 kids ranging in age from 8 to 12. Never been to the area, so would like if someone could give us some ideas of restaurants, entertainment, coupons and anything else to make it a great trip. Can't wait to get there! Thanks for the help!

Default boyne falls,

There is not much to do in boyne falls excpt for the mountian.
The town of boyne falls is one gas station and a motel and bobs outlet for tools and a few chinese things.
As far as eating establishments I would keep clear of gaylord, boyne city 7 miles away has a couple of ok places to eat and a couple of ok bars, Petoskey 18 miles north has a few more places to eat some very high $.
The perry hotel and rest. is a very high end place, I once got a 50$ gift cert. for this place and my wife and I got 2 of the more reasonable items on the menu and I still had to kick in 60$ for dinner and we had no drinks. As far as entertainment there is nothing in most of the towns up north. Summer some times brings in a few local singers and live bands but not to many.
I would plan on keeping to the slopes and TV. If you have not been up there you could try going north another 45 miles and go over the bridge and see if they are opening some of the Mac citys attractions.
I would try Harbor Springs and go to Hovies and get a train wreck sandwich.
Best Pizza is BC which now is called best choice but original was for boyne city pizza, they sold a few stores and changed the name. For lunch I would go to Roast and Toast on Lake st. and walk the gas light dist. Roast and Toast has good soup and coffee. The shops in the gas light are nice to walk into but not buy, to high $. If you have time I would definatly go to Traverse city for a day, Walk the old front st. and there is some entertainment there.
Go to folgerllies on front st and get a rachal sandwich and coke.
The new casino may have some show going on in petoskey you will have to ask when you get there. You can find a few things to do for a week but you will have to do some driving, TC is about 80 miles south west of Boyne Falls.

When you get to the lodge, ask for a copy of The Graphic at the concierge desk. This often has coupons in it. If you like Mexican food, Red Mesa in Boyne City is pretty good. If you go to Petoskey, you might want to try City Park Grill...they have great food. There are some places to eat on the Boyne Mountain property but I don't know much about them except one is quite pricey. There is also a pizza place called Trophy Room on property. I prefer B.C. pizza but that's just my preference. Are you planning on going to the waterpark as well? It's expensive, but kids love it.
