any help would be greatly appreciated
I was born and grew up in Temperance moved away and later returned to live in Lambertville for another 12 years. We moved away to Texas last year and miss Lambertville/Temperance greatly, but that's another story. We'll be back in 4-5 years. Of all the places we've lived Lambertville was one of our favorites. The jury is still out on Texas but we can't argue with the economic opportunities and mild winters for now. Anyhow, in Lambertville/Temperance you are close to everything in Toledo for shopping and entertainment and the commute to AA is manageable as I did it for the better part of 8 of the 12 years I that I lived in Lambertville. Times are tough and many houses sit on the MLS for months in Bedford (I keep track) so you could probably find someone willing to rent. Bedford Schools are good. If your kids are into sports they have great programs, with Wrestling and Volleyball being some of the best in the state. As for the education, they offer the programs needed and if you have a dedicated student and support at home they will get an education to compete anywhere they decide to go to college, and after all they learned me up right didn't they?.
My wife is from the UK and lived in Wisconsin, and the Chicagoland area and comparatively the 12 years she spent in Lambertville were some of her favorites.
I think many of the same things I said about Bedford could also be said for Dundee and Ida, however in Bedford township I liked being close to Toledo. I traveled all over the state for work while I lived in MI and I've always said Lambertville/Temperance is the biggest town in Michigan that no one has ever heard of as It seems to be off most peoples' radar. It's positioned between I-75 and US-23 for easy access to most areas to the north and south.

Good luck

I grew up in Tecumseh and never thought then that I would say this, but it's a fantastic town. About 30 to 40 minutes to Ann Arbor, same to Toledo. It's cute and safe and close enough to the cities to be able to enjoy them but far enough away to maintain the small town feel. Saline is closer to Ann Arbor and farther from Toledo, but bigger than Tecumseh if that's what you're looking for. I'd be happy to answer any questions about that area for you if you want to PM me with specifics!

I would say Dundee would be a good half way point for you. It has a cute little downtown area, but it is a sleepy rural area. It is becoming more popular and it's location right off of US 23 is superior. Saline and the little towns west of it along Michigan Ave would be pretty nice to live in but a bit longer commute to Toledo (but very doable).
