Default Business credit card stolen

The company I work for ordered a credit card in my name without my request or consent. It is based on the company's line of credit. The card was stolen on the company premises even before I received it and was used to change my mailing address and racking up a lot of charges. So now, not only are there huge charges on a credit card in my name but my personal mail has been stolen for over 2 months.

Legally, can I be responsible for those charges if I did not specifically request or consent to the applicable terms from the credit card company? Can I bring legal charges against the company for being responsible for compromising my personal information leading to identity theft? Especially because the company shows no concern over this matter!

The charges include cell phone and consumer energy payments. Is there any way I can find the address/ name associated with these payments on my own?

Any answer would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it's a credit card -- the limit you can be held responsible for is usually $50 and most companies waive that. You just have to sign an affidavit of fraud. You wouldn't be liable for anything if you had reported the loss of the card before fraudulent charges had shown up.

Best of luck.
