A ruggid shore line, It was up around the San Fransisco Bay area, My wife and I were taking a cruise out to Alcatrz and the Catalina Islands. This was back in the 90's.
Actually it seems logical, it's not that Petosky stones are only found in Michigan
I'm originally from Michigan (Wexford County) and since I was a kid I think I felt that way.

actually i do think that petoskey stones in their true form are ONLY found in MI, they are from glacial movement and i may be wrong but i don 't think california was formed by glaciers like michigan was.....maybe it was another fossilized piece of coral-different from the petoskey stone...

I go through Cadillac all the time and even have worked there on occasion, when I work as a field interviewer on a Fed Govt. survey, Nice town, but they need to do something about the downtown area. I think they should put in a grassy divider. With the road being so wide, it isn't very welcoming.

You may be right there, because I've always though the same. But it sure did resemble one, It about the size of a golf ball (not quite), smooth, with small shell like fossils embeded.
My wife didn't even know what a Petosky stone was, ( She's a California Native)

I was there in "06". In "69" we had to move to Berrien County because my little sister was starting in a Special school. She was born deaf due to a accident my mother was in out on I-131 or maybe it was M-55.
Anyway, when we left I remember Cadillac ended at the fair grounds. Now it's extended down to Boon Rd,and The Air Port, which the Fair Grounds is connected to both
Main st seems wider because they changed the parking from right angle parking to paralell parking.(that's the first thing I noticed). Part of Main St use to be made out of brick.
I had a friend who's sister was in "Traverse City State Hospital", is that thing still standing? The place looked like a prison.

I live in a small town in Oklahoma that resembles cadillac, at least how I remember Cadillac back in the 60's. It's also a farming community.
In my last post, when I said "right angle" parking, here's what I meant, You can see why Main is so much wider. But with a median down the middle, I think it would take up too much room.
Duncan Oklahoma, resembling Cadillac, Mich.(recent) except that the buidings stand higher in Cadillac.
