True it does have the promise, but you have to live in Kalamazoo your whole life to actually get it! How fun is that?
Agreed with Darstar about Paw Paw/Mattawan, crazy toothed meth lab area. Lake Geneva is an awesome area, went there a while back. Great chocolate shops, places to eat, wave runners, girls laying out. Saint Joseph Michigan is a nice Michigan alternative, on the beach that is.

Not true.
You have to go there for all of K-12 to get 100% tuition.
It is pro-rated quite nicely for those who only attend high school or start some time in elementary/middle school.

Ok, to get 100% of the benefit you have to live in Kalamazoo the entire duration of your child's stay from kindergarten to the end of highschool, true. It offers zero percent for those children starting as a sophmore in highschool on up. It is also only in Kalamazoo public schools and you must live in the Kalamazoo district.
I'd rather live in the Gull Lake area and not worry about the whole thing.

Yeah, Mattawan is definitely not a "meth lab area." I used to live near there in Oshtemo and it's a nice town. A little too suburban, but nice.

Default No place like home

What ever the state you move to , most likely you will be most comfortable in a new area that reminds you of " home". We are truly creatures of habit , not very far removed from that of our pets. The comfort level plays a larger role than we are quite often willing to admit.
Examples , are , say you are from the hills of Tennessee , you move to Michigan , you settle for a place to live , that reflects your homeland , ........some hills , some trees , a little hide a way just outside of town , instead of a condo , that might be in all practical manner , closer to your job.
Lets say , you come from LA , to Mi. .....most likely you will find your comfort level , in Detroit , or , a burb , where , hills , trees , etc. are non existent.
There are exceptions , of coarse , and , some of us long for the places , to live , that are not beneficial , to our work , or current lifestyle....... Think about the last time you went on a vacation , 2 weeks away from your daily surroundings , possibly in a paradise setting. You could stay on that sand beach forever......... but , after a couple of weeks, you start thinking about home , about that frozen patch of earth , up north , you have called home for a long while.
Sometimes , the best part of a vacation , is going home , where ever it is.

Default Danish?

Are you sure you don't mean "Dutch." ? I too was interested in Holland until I started reading their newspaper online, The Holland Sentinel. The town seems as dull as dishwater but I still intend to check it out next year. The RE values are amazing compared to California. If I knew how to add a link to the Sentinel I would but you can google it.
